This Is The North End Of The Hornell Railroad Depot With The Blue Hornell, NY Sign, Now Gone
Between Hornell and Oswego I don't really know which City I enjoy more whether it be waiting for a train to pass through the city of Hornell or watching the freighters and Tall Ships in and out of the Port of Oswego. Hornell is a lot closer and less crowded and I can follow the trains by hearing them on my scanner when they enter the area. Oswego is a college town that is always busy. There Harborfest and Tall Ship Festivals really draw in the people. Its fun just sitting on the banks of Lake Ontario watching all the boats and waiting for a tall ship to enter the harbor for tours or even a ride which I did a couple of years ago. I want to tour the lighthouse but, its all closed up. Bunmmer. There is a train in and out of Oswego delivering and picking up goods to & from the freighters that come into port. Its great sitting there watching the boats get unloaded.
