WHAT'S NEW WITH MY SITE
This is a black & white photo that I found of the engine of the Silver Lake Railway. I do not have a date of the photo but, I could be in 1920's. It is parked behind the old grainery mill where Sedams was for many years and where Arrow Mart is now 2002.

THE SILVER LAKE RAILROAD
The Silver Lake Railroad had many stops in its earlier years. From the time the Erie started business in 1871 to its last hauls in 1972 when the railroad shut down and all the tracks were ripped up it was a profitable railroad. It had deliveries to many Perry businesses such as the Fanning Coal Yard where carloads of coal was dumped into the bins until they were all full. Sedams had tires delivered to there business at the end of the line. A large turntable was at this location to turn the engine around heading it back toward the mainline in Silver Springs. This Train hauled grain, powdered milk, feed, lumber, and everything else to keep Perry moving in products and industry booming. It is surley missed today.
